Making a career in Information Technology is quiet challenging, most of the fresher’s do not know that what kind of skills do they opt for his I.T. career. It is truth and proved that the college degree is not enough to get placed in I.T. Industry although a plenty of jobs available (millions). What is a main reason behind it?
Answer is, the college curriculum is not enough to fill industry requirements, inferior quality of knowledge delivery, nonskilled teaching staff, treating a education as business unit only. I have seen many engineering students who are not aware about current technological trends of I.T. industry, how it is affecting the nature of existing and upcoming jobs. This is a big challenge for employers. The International Data Corporation (IDC) did several studies that suggest there will be a significant gap in the next 5 to 10 years between the demand for and supply of IT professionals with the right technical skills.
As you might be aware that the I.T. Industries are depends on some core technologies vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Intel, Apple, Cisco, Juniper, Google etc .The above companies creating a modern computing plateform and other IT companies are providing a services which is based on core technologies. These core companies providing training on its owned technologies and certifying the students to develop its own workforce to accelerate the use of its technologies and business. Training Industry is devided in two parts one is pioneer or first training partner who are providing training with official curriculum in collaboration with core technologies vendors and other third or tertiary training organization (grey market training vendors) who are providing training without any partnership or any official course curriculum of technology vendors.
You may opt training on any technology from any of these training vendors but problem is validity of skills and recognition. Because training alone is not enough its required proper validation, i means any kind of certificate from third party vendors is just like a plain paper nothing else. Because third party training Institution validation is not asured and lack of authenticity thats why the 1st , 2nd ,3rd level companies never welcome or recognise these certificates. The best solution of this problem you may opt the specific technology training from any institution but you must do validation of skill through vendor based exams and earn professional certificates and badge from core technologies vendors.
Before choosing any career specially in Information Technology you must go through 6Ws methodology (What, Why, Where, When, Who, How) and evaluate about training , courses, Training Institutions, Trainer, Certificates and evaluation process etc.
The Following Certificates are more popular Professional IT certificates which offerd by various vendors:
